17 Feb Get to Know Force: Brad Maran
Each week, we’ll be highlighting a key Force Marketing team member here on the blog. Get to know our team a little better, starting today with Account Executive Brad Maran!
Q. What’s your role at Force, and what does it entail?
I am currently an Account Executive on what I believe to be one of the most instrumental teams at Force Marketing. On a daily basis, I work to ensure the success and overall satisfaction of every client by creating and deploying high-quality, multi-channel campaigns. From obtaining monthly incentives to launching the campaign, it is my role to execute marketing campaigns as efficiently as possible.
Q. What’s your favorite thing about what you do here?
Week after week, my coworkers answer this question for me. I am pretty lucky to be able to walk into an environment everyday where people are laughing at 9am, working until 9pm, and bringing a “get-it-done” mentality every single day.
The automotive industry is tough and presents challenges that almost always require thinking outside of the box. No two situations can be problem-solved the same way, and that is what drives me everyday.
Q. Tell us a little bit about yourself outside of work.
I am a diehard Atlanta sports fan. You don’t find too many of those anymore living in a transplant city, but I find myself most weekends rooting on my team only to have my hopes and dreams crushed in dramatic fashion come playoff time. BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU LIVE IN ATLANTA. I am not sure when I will learn my lesson. Maybe I do it to myself. I don’t know. But until I lose a sports bet with Curry, I may as well keep pushin’ on.
Q. What’s your dream travel destination, or favorite place you’ve ever traveled?
Greatest place I have ever traveled? Easy. The Baths at Virgin Gorda. That place is truly paradise. I checked out Google Images while I answered this question, and Bora Bora looks really nice. So does Italy. Those two places are on the bucket list.
Q. What’s your dream vehicle?
When I went shopping for my current vehicle, the salesperson at the dealership asked me what accessories I looked for in a vehicle. I responded “Honestly, I’m not too sure. I’d like a touch screen.” His response was “It’s 2016. All of our new vehicles come equipped with a touch screen. What else do you want?” My response, “Well. Bluetooth speakers would definitely be nice.” He looked at me like I was completely lost. “Son, what in the hell do you drive now?”
Give me a Karmann Ghia convertible, and I’ll be thrilled.
Q. What song would be your theme song?
If you know anything about me, you know that I love Bruce Springsteen. In another life, I would’ve walked to the plate at Turner Field to Born to Run. Hit it Danny.
Q. Who would play you in the movie of your life?
Denzel Washington. In case you can’t picture it, maybe this will help. Denzel would be perfect.
Q. What advice would you give to a new employee at Force?
You will see many unopened Mountain Dews lying around the office. They are not for you. Just keep moving.
Q. What’s your favorite quote?
I have two. The first, “Don’t you sit up on the shoreline and say you’re satisfied. Choose to chance the rapids, and dare to dance the tides.” – Garth Brooks
The second was from Coach Nick Saban at CBT’s 2016 Auto Expo. “An individual is what makes a team. It’s not the other way around. It doesn’t work like that at Alabama, and it doesn’t work that way in life.”
Q. Any weird talents or facts about you?
I grew up listening to classic rock and oldies, and my favorite band when I was younger was Fleetwood Mac. When I was 10 years old, I saw them in concert for the first time, so I arrived at the concert early to where the buses pull in before the show. My dad handed me an old ‘Tusk’ record album cover and Mick Fleetwood signed it coming in. Later during the intermission, I somehow found my way to the front of the stage and later on the stage sitting next to Lindsey Buckingham during “Go Your Own Way” who gave me his set list and a signed ticket stub. For a 10 year old, that’s pretty neat. Years later I still think it’s one of my coolest stories.
