25 Aug Get to Know Force: Eric Giddens
Each week, we’ll be highlighting a key Force Marketing team member here on the blog. Get to know our team a little better, starting today with Helix Client Engagement Manager Eric Giddens!
Q. What’s your role at Force, and what does it entail?
My role is the Helix Client Engagement Manager. Essentially, ensuring that all of the new accounts that come on board with Force Marketing are set up correctly in the Helix Data and Reporting platform. This includes DMS integration, digital marketing reporting set up, direct marketing report set up, and thoroughly training the client on the reporting platform. I am also responsible for rolling out and training the company on all of the new feature releases for the Helix Technology Platform.
Q. What’s your favorite thing about what you do here?
I love when a person and or department shares an issue they are having. I love really digging in to find the solution. That’s the best. It’s even better when we can solve that issue with a programmatic approach and have the Helix technology solve the issue. Decreasing errors, increasing efficiency, and making the employee’s life easier. That is what makes my day!
Q. Tell us a little bit about yourself outside of work.
I’m a family man. Married for 9 years to my wonderful wife Casey. Father to three awesome kids- 9, 6, and 4. I enjoy an impromptu neighborhood get together with 15-20 kids running everywhere and all the adults chilling out with some good food cooking in the smoker or on the grill! Quick jaunts to the North Georgia mountains for an apple-picking weekend or an overnight stay at the waterfalls/lake is an ideal way for us to spend a weekend. Summertime you can find us at the pool doing the same!
Q. What’s your dream travel destination, or favorite place you’ve ever traveled?
Favorite place I have traveled is Cozemel, Mexico. Clearest water I ever swam in. I could see 40ft down. Fish were everywhere and it was truly paradise. Dream travel destination is Bodhgaya, Bihar, India and sit under the Bodhi Tree at the same place that the Buddha is said to have found enlightenment.
Q. Did you have any sort of automotive background before Force?
Yeah, I have been in the automotive marketing space for almost 16 years. I cut my teeth at eLEAD CRM in college and continued working there for 9 years. From there, I helped build and launch Customer Retention platforms for both DME Automotive and EasyCare. I love the automotive industry. Force Marketing was the next logical step, being on the leading edge of both marketing techniques and technology!
Q. What’s your dream vehicle?
Hunter Green 1969 convertible Corvette. I like the sound, smell, and feel of a classic muscle car. Raw power. You have to drive the car. No computers. All Feel. I could cruise a coastline or a country backroad all day in one.
Q. What’s your theme song?
Honestly, my theme song changes based on the situation. My inner songs change based on what is going on around me or whatever the topic of the conversation is. The song that always brings a smile to my face is Michael Franti & Spearhead – Say Hey (I Love You). Good times.
Q. Who would play you in the movie of your life?
Matt Damon. C’mon, I know you can see the resemblance. For sure, 20 years ago. “You look who you look like?” Got it all the time. 😉 Nowadays… Probably Woody Harrelson.
Q. What advice would you give to a new employee at Force?
Watch, listen and learn. Ask questions. This is a living and breathing organism full of some of the automotive industry’s most brilliant marketing minds. Everyone here has something unique to teach you if you desire to learn.
Q. What’s your favorite quote?
The man who thinks he can and the man who thinks he cannot are both right. Which one are you?
Q. Any weird talents or facts about you?
I swam the Ichetucknee River in North Florida top to bottom twice in one day. 12 miles without hanging on a float.
Q. Anything else you’d like people to know?
Treat other people the way you want to be treated and everything will turn out alright in the end. Be intentional in your actions. Hold yourself to a higher standard. Be Excellent to one another. If you want to learn more about Helix, hit me up. I would enjoy answering any questions you may have!
