All the experts predicted that 2015 would be a good year for the auto industry, and it turned out they were right– U.S. light-vehicle sales hit an all-time high of 17.47 million units sold during 2015. 01 Sep Good News for Dealers: U.S. Auto Sales Up for August

Despite the fact that Labor Day weekend comes too late this year to be counted amid August’s sales totals, U.S. automakers posted impressive sales last month. Ford reported a sales increase of 5.4 percent, Fiat Chrysler reported an increase of 1.7 percent sales, and while General Motors reported a minor sales drop of 1 percent, their numbers still came in above August estimates. Overall, the SAAR is still on track to top 17 million for the year– in fact, Autodata reports that August sales increased to an annualized pace of 17.81 million over the previously-expected 17.31 million.
