17 Nov Get to Know Force: Jess Burns

Each week, we’ll be highlighting a key Force Marketing team member here on the blog. Get to know our team a little better, starting today with Logistics Manager Jess Burns!

Q. What’s your role at Force, and what does it entail?

Logistics Manager. I help oversee the processes involved with direct mail marketing. Logistics makes sure all jobs are turned in before deadline and sent to vendors. We also manage vendor relationships on a daily basis.

Q. What’s your favorite thing about what you do here?

I like being able to problem-solve, so if there is an issue with a job, or if something doesn’t make sense, then I like to figure out exactly what went wrong.

Q. Tell us a little bit about yourself outside of work.

I am a HUGE book worm. I probably read 3-4 books a week when I have the time. I love classic literature and I really like mystery. Sherlock Holmes is one of my all time favorites. I also have two doggos who I absolutely adore and I travel a lot and I keep myself busy between work, school and my non-profit.

Q. What’s your dream travel destination, or favorite place you’ve ever traveled?

I have actually never been outside the U.S. before, but I have a long list of places I want to visit. I want to visit Iceland and my dream is to take my dad to visit Scotland in a few years for a daddy/daughter trip (my family immigrated from Scotland).

Q. Did you have any sort of automotive background before Force?

No, other than having driven ten or more cars in my lifetime, I never had any professional experience in the industry prior to Force.

Q. What’s your dream vehicle?

Hmmm, that is hard because I want several different cars, but my dream car would probably be a ’65 baby blue Mustang with white leather interior. I have wanted it ever since I was 10.

Q. What’s your theme song?

I don’t know of a song that I would pick as my theme song, but one of friends says that “Meet Virginia” by Train always reminded her of me, ha. Not sure why but I assume it is because I am quirky like Virginia?

Q. Who would play you in the movie of your life?

I have been told at least 10 times that I look like Anne Hathaway so I would definitely pick her! I think she could portray all of my little quirks quite nicely! Haha

Q. What advice would you give to a new employee at Force?

Get to know your team members, because everyone is super helpful here. You will make some great friends if you just take the time to say hi!

Q. What’s your favorite quote?

“If you will forgive me for being personal–I do not like your face.” – Hercule Poirot

Q. Any weird talents or facts about you?

I am 1/8th Native American, even though it doesn’t look like it. Most of my family is tall, with a darker complexion and dark hair. My dad and I are fair-skinned with blue eyes and freckles…guess we took after the Scottish side.

Q. Anything else you’d like people to know?

I am super passionate about helping people and being involved in the community. I started a non-profit, ReadyRosy, last year to help provide the homeless (specifically women & children) with hygiene products. I hope that one day I will have more time to dedicate to it and really make an impact on our community!
