14 Sep This Year’s Super Bowl Ads Largely Viewed Online

As far as TV and video ads go, the Super Bowl is king. But are people still watching those ads the same way they always have been? According to a recent study by video metrics company Unruly, the answer to that is a resounding no. The study found that 51 percent of those who had watched Super Bowl XLIX ads did not do so on television-- instead, they had viewed the ads on their desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. 31 Aug Google Chrome to Pause Flash Ads Starting Sept. 1

Starting September 1, the popular Google Chrome browser will no longer support Flash ads-- or any Flash content that isn’t “central to the webpage” on a given site. The reason behind Google’s decision is that many consumers find Flash ads to be more of a nuisance than anything else-- these ads often autoplay and can slow down a browser, particularly when the consumer is on a mobile device, or even drain the battery of a laptop or device faster. By pausing these ads, users can determine whether they want an ad to play or not. Flash-based ads are also notorious for...

20 Jul Facebook Redefines the Meaning of Cost-Per-Click

Another change is on the horizon for dealers who advertise with Facebook, one that could make measuring the ROI of your efforts easier than ever. Now, CPC will only include clicks to websites and apps, and will no longer include likes, shares and comments. So why is this an improvement for those who advertise on Facebook? If you’re a dealer who takes advantage of Facebook’s advertising offerings, you’re likely interested in driving traffic to your website. While post likes, comments and shares are great...

13 Jul Google Maps Gets a Cross-Device Upgrade

It means that it’s a great time to make sure your business listings on sites like Google Maps are correct, and that users can find...

29 Jun Google Takes Steps to Reduce Accidental Ad Clicks on Mobile

Even with the larger screen real estate offered by devices like the iPhone 6 Plus, it’s an easy mistake for anyone to make. For smartphone users, that erroneous click merely results in a few seconds of inconvenience. For an advertiser, however, those clicks can cost money. That’s why Google is doing something about it. The company recently announced three changes to mobile ads that will help reduce these accidental types...
